Another fun season of racing in the books. Congrats to the class winners. Maybe it's time to start thinking about classes for next season. Tom

I would like to suggest Fly group 5 limited or box stock plus. David

I would like to suggest Fly group 5 limited or box stock plus. David Good choice--I'd like to see a Carrera classic class (Cheetahs, Corvettes, Cobras, 917s, etc.) limited. Maybe a true vintage 1/24 open wheel class. Tom

I would of course be all for the 1/24 open wheel too! David

I would like to see a class for the Stombecker "3" pin bodied cars. Their brass chassis will fit under a Lola, Cheetah, Ford GT, Ford J car, McLaren and a Barracuda at least. Jim W

I would like to see a "homemade brass chassis" class. No pro built chassis. Have to post pictures of your build progression.

Dave, We would need time and a good teacher, but I am up for it. I do have quite a few motor brackets to donate to the cause if we go that way. It would be a whole new ballgame to start scratch building cars. I also have a lot of clear bodies to help get us going.

I would be interested IF we had a start build party to talk about options and direction. Vintage or current motor, axle, wheels?

The next question, if this was in fact an actual class... What type car bodies would be used? Such as Can-Am, Trans-Am, etc. I thought it would be beneficial if it was something most everybody had. One thought came to mind... The AIRI (?) Porsche 911 that we did years ago...

Interesting thought Dave but I think that you Tom and I are the only ones with those Porsche 911s from that far back. They might still be available though in which case we could get more and I also wonder if Mark Misagatis has any left. I don't think we could use my vintage parts though because of the size. I was thinking more along the lines of 1965-1968 with pin mounted clear bodies of enough size to make the building process easy and running 16d motors. We are getting ahead of ourselves though since no one has chimed in on this except you, Mark and I. Is anyone else willing to try scratch building from brass? I last built one in 1968 when I was 11 years old which was about the time the whole slot car craze died. I was so bummed but soon moved on to other things, like girls.

In all my years of slot car racing, I've never built a brass chassis but I guess I would be willing to try. Tom

I'm really new to this group, but I would be interested in building a wire frame car with some direction. I did search and saw many 1/24 scale but not a lot on 1/32. We would use lexan bodies, correct? I tossed out an idea to David A, when I found a place in England that offered a Lotus Cortina cast body, lexan interior and plastic chassis for around $30 and can supply 12 for us. Spec motor, gears, tires.... request color schemes and numbers....

I’d be very interested in learning how to build a brass chassis. Count me in.

Not much of a Lexan body fan but if that's the direction it would go i would work with it. I'm either way on whether to use vintage gear or modern gear. I guess my preference would be modern gear but as before I can work with either. I have a bunch of pictures on my "Pinterest" site of brass chassis. Mostly 1/32. Some chassis are pretty simple such as a flat pan chassis and then on to box or round tube chassis and more complex from there. I will try to post some pictures in the coming weeks.

Here are some of my first brass chassis I've done. pin.it/6itwCtpThe two on the left are based on a Dennis Samson chassis i liked and thought would be easy to build. the two on the right are what I consider a "hybrid" chassis using a Slot.it motor pod.
