I have posted the new rules for this year. I also have posted 9 spots for our race schedule. Pick a date from September to May to host a race. I sent a message to Tom asking about the first race, if it will be at Colpar.

Hello Everyone.
I was scrolling through this topic for information on the current classes and noticed that there had been some interest in scratch building. Is this still the case or has everyone lost interest. When I had my commercial track I did have a scratch building class that I taught with the final being a race of those cars.

Mark, I was the one proposing a "scratch Build" class but it didn't have enough votes, this time, to be a racing class to race. That doesn't mean it isn't possible racing class for the next season. Some people are either too afraid of trying, Don't have the skills, Don't believe they are capable of the skills, Don't have the basic tools, Don't want to take the time and effort to try it. I for one have already tip-toed into the art of brass chassis building. Maybe the admin could create a place for "Scratch Building" (chassis/brass?) and maybe it could/would spark some interest.

By looking at our rules for the Trans Am class, which is a Limited/Unlimited class, we can build a scratch-built chassis for the class. There are a few restrictions in the class but building a scratch-built chassis is not one of them. The only restriction is the mounting of the body, with no screws through the outside of the body. The body does need to be a "hard body"; resin, model or a slot car "plastic" body.

I’d be very interested in a class on how to scratch build a chassis!

Cool guys. So I can come up to the next race and talk to everyone about this.
Jim - I have some specific subjects in mind that are scale and vintage. I wouldnt worry about the rules as long at this meets the those two things.
This thing takes time and I want everyone to have some success.

This was my first scratchbuilt car. I fabricated all the chassis parts including that motor bracket. Mark

I would like to see a 1/24 formula 1, I would suggest a change from normal rules::::: allow vac bodies. These vintage cars may be pretty hard to come by, a lot of these vintage cars will be vintage builtl closd wheeled raather than open wheeled. The open wheel will bring in some interesting novel cars .
2.. would cast a vote for the endurance cars the slot.it Ford GT and 512 ferrari are great cars, easy to find and availble parts, It would be a battle of drivers morso than the car.
I guess Nascar would be ok ok, even when they were running clockwise.

Posted in the wrong place. I'll post it where it should be but we already have a poll going.
