David, I remember a class that the club did many years ago now with that same idea, but all based on the EJ's repro Monogram brass frame. Yeah guy’s, Like many of you I still have that Porsche 911body kit and brass chassis specifically purchased for that seasons race. Never got to build it, so now might be a good time to run them. I’ve got most of the vintage cars that were suggested so they all sound like good racers to me. I’ll head over to the poll and put in my 2 cents there. Denny

seeing that the vote is in, you can imagine my excitement! Anyway, thinking of the classes, I thought an initial list of eligible cars would be helpful: Revell sports: Mercedes 300sl Aston Martin DB5 Ferrari GTO 63 and 65 Corvette Stingrays XKE Jag Cobra roadster 68 Corvette (later 60's and rarer)
Monogram endurance: 3 Ferraris: 330lm, 64 GTO and 275p Porsche 904 64 Ford GT Lola GT Monogram had other cars in their vintage lineup, but they did not historically race in endurance events.
I know rules are still forthcoming, but as mentioned above, EJ's Hobbies did do both a repro Monogram brass frame, as well as (even longer ago!) the Revell alu. "slider" frame. These may still be about, and are quite authentic. I'm sure, if he's still in business, that the #15 (narrow) and 16 (wide) tires are still available, and at one time he was selling repro Revell alu. wheels. All this appropriate for these cars. Let's all work together to make sure whoever wants to race has the stuff he needs!

Repro bodies??? Sometime ago, MRRC released full kits, as well as body kits, of at least the Monogram GTO and Porsche 904. They were quite pricey, and not readily available. But they are out there. And being off the original molds, they sit down square on the vintage frames.

You guys will be happy to know that we are planning to allow any sports/sporty bodies on an original Revell chassis. So you can run any of the cars on Steve's list plus the European only Sunbeam or Triumph. In addition you can run any sports/sporty car with a model body. So if you build a GT-350, 280sl, BMW 507 or whatever it's allowed as long as it is a hard body on an original chassis. Just a heads up, David
