I use a Weller TC202 60 watt iron that i got from eBay, under $50. Ive used this type of Weller iron since my electronic technician days in the 1970s! Great soldering iron. That list of tools is incredible. Will have to share with others as I dont have room for some of those bigger items, metal break, bandsaw, lathe… What’s a ceramic block? When you say “measurement” what exactly are your referring to? Calipers? Im sure more questions will come but this is good! Marc Slot Car Corner has one of the least expensive ceramic set up blocks available. |

A couple of things I don't have on the tool list is a "Hobby Lathe" and a "Sheet metal Brake". If somebody brings a lathe and sheet metal brake to class I would like to share...  |

David, I know there is some distance between us, but I have a Sherline Lathe and a small brake that could be used. Brake is portable, lathe not so much. Mark W |

The closest tool I have to a sheet metal brake is duckbill plyers. They are about 2" wide and don't fit very good with thin metal.
