It is with great sadness that I heard from Karen Barr that we lost one of our most loyal racers last night. I will try to post any new information I receive.

I will try to get some flowers down there on behalf of the club. I won't be able to make it Saturday; hoping some of you can. Steve

Jim was a class act and a great guy to race alongside and chat with. He will be missed. My condolences to his friends and family.

This is such sad news. We all loved Jim for the great guy and slot car enthusiast he was. The last time I saw him in the store a few of weeks ago he seemed anxious to get back into the hobby. He will be missed terribly. Tom

Jim Barr's memorial service was held today at the Fairmont Mortuary, 430 S. Quebec St, Denver, CO. David Asbury, Jim Weickum and I attended, representing the FRVSC&HRC. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schleicher were also in attendance. I learned today that Jim and Bob had known each other since the 2nd grade, growing up in Cheyenne, WY. Their friendship goes back 70 years. Based upon the turnout for Jim's memorial service, it is apparent that he will be missed by many, family and friends alike. Godspeed, Mr. Barr.

Doug thanks for posting these pics, I could not find anything as good in my photos. I might have to print out the pic of him standing by my Nurberg Ring poster.
