This race will most likely be the last race at LeMans. After this race the track will be dis-assembled and moved to temorary storage until a final resting place is located for retirement.
1. This race will be 24 minutes for each entrant - 8 minutes per lane.
2. Each entrant will race at night(low light conditions at least once).
3. Only cars that started LeMans 1967 will be allowed.
4. No duplicaton of liveries or numbers. - If you want to race the Ford GT MkIV #1, choose that car. Nobody else can race that car.
5. Car must be liveried in the same color and number of the cars from LeMans 67'.
6. Cars must have working headlights and tail lights.
7. Motor Limit is 21,500 RPM.
8. RTR modern manufactures type cars only - Fly, NSR, Slot.it, Scalextric, etc. Resin cars are allowed.
9. Minimum and Maximum weight limits (to be determined).
10.Race teams may be created if desired - Two racers for one car.
11.No "Racer" brand slot. I had to draw the line somewhere, and the scale is just too big.
12.Any chassis may be used...Brass, Plastic, Carbon fiber...
13.Entry fee - $5.00
14.These rules may be amended, altered, deleated, or more rules created.

I will take the #7 Chapparal. One of the few slot cars available, painted. Many 1966 cars, few 1967 cars.

I think this is the year of Le Mans, 1967, that David C. and Steve are trying to collect to have all cars of that years race.

The #1,3 and 4 GT40 MkIV cars are available from NSR and MRRC. Scaley made the #22 Ferrari 330 P4, Racer makes the Ferrari 412, MRRC makes the Chaparral 2F, and there are lots of other cars down to the Sports car classes that ran also. I will probably run the Racer 412P.

Scalex did a number of the p4's, which is what originally interested me in trying to get the full lineup in my collection, at least of the "major" players. They did the 2nd pl. SEFAC (team Ferrari) car, as well as some of the independent entries by Maranello Concessionaires (Brit), NART (American) and Ecurie Francorchamps (Belgian).
Enough trivia; put me down for one of the Ford of France Ford GT entries: either #6 or 16.

Hey David - A quick review of the 1967 LeMans race reveals 4 Carrera 6,7 participants - Car # 66 with Poirot, car # 37 with Elford, car # 41 with Siefert, and also one DNF which was # 40 with Rindt. Have any of these been selected so far? I also have questions about what might be necessary in addition to the proper color.

Jim, actually #'s 40 and 41 were 907 longtails. So the Porsche contingent looked like this:
Carrera 6, 2 cars
907 long tail, 2 cars
910 coupes, 2 cars.
And a bevy of lesser privateer 911's in the lower ranks.

I am considering the Monogram Shelby GT350R (#17) for Mr. Crosby's 24 minutes of LeMans.
However, the kit does not come with functional front/rear lights.
Anyone have an idea as to how difficult it would be to retrofit lights to this kit?
(Tom - are there such kits available?)

I have a couple of Slot.it light kits at the store and there are a lot of light kits by Overdrive Slot available from Professor Motor. I'm not sure how they are mounted but Dave Crosby can help you with that I think--he has done several.
