I have an open wheel Russkit car that has an independent front axle. Is there a way to take it apart to narrow the track width? It looks like it has ball bearings in the front axle. The wheels look like 60's cone hub caps, with a raised center that extends past the tire. Or how can I remove the axle to put in a narrower axle?
Any help would be appreciated.

hard to say without seeing it. So it's not apparent how the wheel is secured to this axle?? Although I don't remember this type of axle with press fit wheels being used.

It looks like the back of the wheels are "pinned" in four spots, so I will not be able to take the wheels off without destroying the wheels. I have a 1/24 Tamiya Mokei Plastic Model Co. car that I destroyed the rear wheel trying to get the gear off of it. I now know my limitations on these 1/24th cars, so I will not be taking them apart to make any changes to them. (at least the Tamiya uses set screw wheels and solid axles.)
