The McLaren Elva raced in the 1960s in the Can Am series. I don't think it ran enduro races but even if it did, it's too early for the 1970-75 cars. It was produced from 1964 to 1967. Tom

If this class gets voted in, I'd think there would have to be motor restrictions--otherwise everyone would run that car, Tom

All said and done its up to the individual to choose which car they want. If the Thunderslot wasn't allowed and the Slot It Ferrari 512M was allowed its likely to be the car that everyone would run as well. Just my two cents. Chris

The 512M didn't run in the USRRC series--it was a 1970s car but I see what you're saying. Tom

Tom Oh okay sorry I got the two classes confused, I thought you were saying the 512M was good for the USRRC class. I can see how the Thunderslot may have big advantage if the the other cars are older with less performance. Chris

In looking at my cars I think all of these would work for the 70-75 Endurance cars. Not sure that I would run some but they could be. I also think it would be best if we selected one brand, and Slot.It has a lot to offer and it has been close racing with them. Mark Attachments:

How about 1/32 60's to 80's Nascar? Chris I like the idea of running NASCAR. However, I think 20+ years is too big of a spread. Doug L.

Vintage 1/32 - Atlas and AMT chassis cars, not open wheel. Can be any body, such as a Revell body on an Atlas chassis. Atlas made an adapter to put Revell or Monogram bodies on an Atlas chassis. The pictures show a way of using the Atlas motor/chassis mount and adapting to a Revell Chaparral body. Note the center hole is how the Atlas body would be mounted and the two screws used in the Revell body are able to be modified to fit the Atlas chassis from a Ford GT or Porsche 904. Here is a Atlas Ford GT. See the screw in the center of the mount. As you can see both cars have been used and haven't been cleaned up before a race.

Let's really try to get a 1/24 class for this next season. Open wheel for starters. Tom I did acquire both Ferrari and BRM 1/24 F1 cars yesterday thanks to David!

Here are some more pictures of the Atlas chassis/adapter. The rear bracket will fit on the bushings of the Atlas chassis and the adapter has holes to fit either a Monogram or Revell body. I bought a Revell Aston Martin DB5 and it had the Atlas chassis mounted to it. (I hope David A has the full card of these adapters) There are two Atlas adapters that were made, one for 206 motor and one for the standard 208 motor. The bearings are a different size in each Atlas motor. Jim W

if David does not have those, you can pretty much dismiss the idea. They are completely "unobtainium"
