Classes and Rules for the 2021-2022 Season
Class Rules for 2021-2022 Front Range Vintage Slot Car Club
Fly Classics
1. This class will be for “Fly” Classic cars. Such as Ferrari 512, Porsche 908, Porsche 917, Lola T-70, Chevron B19/B21, Ford GT 40, Ferrari 250 LM, Porsche Carrera 6 and Porsche 917 Spider. No “Racer versions”.
2. Must use stock; chassis, interior, motor pod and motor (18K RPM Fly “black stripe”/“black end bell”)
3. May change – Wheels, axles, bushings, gears and guide.
4. Wheels must have inserts if they are “insert wheels”. No open blank wheels.
5. All other general rules apply
True Vintage Monogram Endurance cars
1. This class is for only Monogram bodied and chassis cars.
2. May use an EJ’s reproduction chassis with an original Monogram bodied car. May use a “Modern” Revell/Monogram body with an original chassis.
3. These are the Monogram Endurance bodies: Ferrari 330LM, Ferrari GTO, Ferrari 275P, Porsche 904, Ford GT and Lola GT.
4. Standard issue motors – (Hop up, rewinds, and motors intended specifically for commercial tracks will be disallowed. (Example: Cox NASCAR, Strombecker Red Hemi, Atlas 206, etc.))
5. A few modern parts will be allowed for consumable items: gears, braids, tires, guide shoe (must be very close in dimension to original shoes, no commercial or 1/24th scale shoes. Reproduction wheels (such as EJs) will be allowed
6. Modern wheel inserts allowed if they conform to period wheels.
7. May use general 1960’s ideas for “hop up” such as using ball bearings. Must use Vintage original parts or reproduction parts only.
8. All other general rules apply
True Vintage Revell 50’s-60’s Sports/Sporty cars
1. This class will be for 50’s-60’s Sports/Sporty cars using a True Vintage Revell chassis.
2. May use original bodies or may use a “model body” adapted to the Revell chassis. (Hard bodies only – no lexan bodies)
3. Revell Vintage bodies; Mercedes 300SL, Ferrari GTO, 63 & 65 Corvette, Jaguar XKE, Cobra Roadster, Aston Martin DB5 and 68 Corvette.
4. Sports/Sporty cars bodies could include the Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, AMX and Cougar.
5. May use either Series 1 chassis or Series 2 chassis.
