It's a Revell chassis with a Pittman motor, the body looks like an old Scarab, although the decals say Maserati. Tom

Thanks Tom. I believe you're right about the chassis. As for the body, I have a Revell Scarab. The nose on this one is longer and narrower. The lines are close to the Chaparral 1, but the nose is still too narrow and I don't know if anyone made a 1/32 Chaparral 1 slot car or body.

Investigating further, I think the model is actually a Maserati. More specifically a 1955-57 Maserati 200Si. As for a slot car source, I haven't found one. MMK makes a Maserati 151 hardtop with similar lines. And a Type 63 But I haven't found a slot car version of the 200 Si.

it is none of the above, though you are warm with the Maserati name. The car is a Lister-Maserati (powered by) Famously driven by Archie Scott-Brown in the 1950's, with only one arm, no less!

Steve is correct. A Lister-Maserati. I had a resin example by Gene Byers back in 1964, one of my first scratchbuilds. Gene is the same Byers that manufactured fiberglass bodies for sports car specials, located in South Bay near where the Mattel plant is now. I have another L-M body now, that I think is a resin repop of the glass Auto Hobbies shell. The L-M body shape is very much like a later Lister Jaguar or Chevy, with a longer nose. It has certain features and shapes that match with the Auto Hobbies first Lister Jaguar with the goofy headlights. Tom, we will have to compare our Lister bodies one day.
