I really like the progressive muscle car idea Jim. Very creative and fun. I don't know if I will make all of the races, hopefully enough to participate in all three stages. Given, of course that this class is chosen.

The Club has a date retriction of 30 years from the start of the season. So, all cars for all classes, will be not newer than 1989 for the start of the next season.

I am confused by most of this. Historically we have had "unlimited" to mean, I can even scratchbuild from bits and raw stock to come up with a racer. Choose my motor, etc. But the use of the word "change" in these "progressions", I mean, from what?? First three races, change from "box stock". There was no box if I scratchbuilt. Granted, many have in the past driven an out of the box car in this class, and they pay the price! (both for the car, and in their results!). But to mandate when and what can be "changed" throws the whole definition out. Call it what it is, but I don't think this is an unlimited class.

I like the Progressive muscle car idea. And as others have said its not mandatory to modify the car if we so choose. I'm not a great builder, but I can change a motor and some gears.

I think we should just stick to a "builders' or unlimited class, not this progressive class. I guess I'm just not a fan of this idea. Tom

The Progressive Muscle class is a class that would allow someone to slowly modify a car and be able to see the results of their ideas and work. Not everyone has a test track to run their car on and see their results. I think a Revell pony car would be a good car to try some ideas on. Start with a plastic chassis, upgrade to a series #2 chassis and then build your own brass chassis. It allow someone to take 6 months to build their race car. This would spread out the cost of Modified car over 6 months. Or you could start with a Monogram/Scalextric/Pioneer/K&B/Aurora/SCX or any other car and try your hand at making some changes to the car and seeing the results from your work improvements over the factory car. Or maybe could take three different cars you already have, run them each during the different phases of the class.
the rules haven't been written so maybe we should just wait and see want the polls decide for the class. There are three choices. Jim W

I do not recall many times in the past where we have ran an "Unlimited" class. Most have had some restrictions on motor size or maybe chassis, such as type of material. The Header was written to show this poll is for a class of cars that can be Modified and the class may be built up to our ultimate class of "Unlimited". The rules have not been looked at and written for any class as of yet. We need the poll to close to see what class of cars win to proceed any farther.

Oh, by the way, The Progressive Muscle car class was not thought up by me. I just put it in the polls, like all of the other suggestions from the members.

Jim, The choices we have are fine and the way we do things is as well. If any particular class is not to someones liking they can vote for something else. And if anyone is bothered by the fact that they may have to buy a car just for this class, well, me a few others have had to do the same especially for the vintage classes. It's just the price to pay to run with this most excellent group of racers.

Are the Poles officially closed and we can start building?

They are officially closed but we don't have class rules yet. The Policar 330 Ferraris are available in both red RTR and the white kits, they will be here by Wed. They are from 1966/7 so I don't think they are eligible. Tom
