What cars would be in the Carrera classic class?
Would a Ninco classic series essentially have the same motor restrictions as the 70mm class, or would larger Ninco motors be allowed? Is there a cutoff date for this class?
Thanks.
Sadly all of my Cartix F1 cars have been sold, though they are really great cars.

Craig,
Tom was using the Carrera Classic to describe the Cobra and Cheetah.
When we look at the Ninco classic cars, I would expect to see a NC1/NC8 motor class or look at using the 14k H&R Jack Rabbit motor. Some of the older cars came with S-can motors, these cars would take the H&R motor easily, I think. The other cars that came with the FK-180 motor, would require an adapter. The cars that came with the FK-130 motor would need to have their motor mount cut opened to fit the H&R motor in them. Once this done, the FK-130 motor will not snap back in the chassis. I have a couple Austin Healey cars with NC2's in them, I wouldn't want anything bigger in them. Corvette and Jaguar can handle the bigger motors, but the 356 Porsche with an NC6 is way beyond my abilities. I have two of these cars, now named Tippy and Rolle!!

Craig, Tom was using the Carrera Classic to describe the Cobra and Cheetah. There are also several Porsche 917s and Ferrari 365s, and a 1965 Corvette. Tom

Ninco motors are rated at 14.8 volts, H&R is a 12 volt motor. Tom

Also, the Cartrix class, correct me if I'm wrong, would be from the 50s only.

I see the H&R 14k Jack Rabbit tested at 15,364 RPM/12v and the Ninco NC-8 tested at 13,370 RPM/12v. Chris, You need to drive better with your cars, to keep up.
Mark, when we ran them the last time, there was some restriction on what cars we used and what motors could be used. That open wheel class, was only the F-1/ GP cars. We didn't allow the FF motor. We didn't allow the early car/s that had a faster motor either. Are all of the open wheel Cartrix with the FC-130 motor, not from the 1950's??

Jim W I mentioned 50s only to keep out the Porsche F1 and I've no idea what that has. I think the earliest releases had the S-Can (Mercedes initially came with the fast motor, later versions the S-can) and the later had the FF. All this info is at least 5 years old. They're still making cars but I think they're all FF cans now.

If the Ninco classic is voted in, I still think there should be a spec motor. At least they would all be closer in torque numbers. I have a spirit cart with the NC-2 motor in it and it is quite a bit faster then the NC-1/8 and H&R motor. The last time we ran the Cartrix class, we used a spec tire (Indy Grip 7005). When each race was over, the tires were collected and given to the next race host and passed out at the race. It worked out very well. Tom

I think we should stick to the NC-1/8 or the H&R 14K motor if the Ninco classics are voted in. The other motors are too much for these cars, in my opinion, and the NC-1/8 motors have worked great in the past. The H&R 14K should be the only upgrade motor to consider. These cars don't need to be rocket ships. LOL Tom

Now that Cartrix in the BSP class, I'd say I'm not in favor of picking a couple out of a bag to run. It is my experience that the wheels are too soft for repeatedly taking tires on and off and these cars wobble down the track enough as it is.
Why no just say everyone needs to run tire brand X instead?

The last time we did this it worked out fine-no broken wheels from taking the tires off after every race--the wheels are stronger than that. We used IG7005 and there were a great choice. Tom

We can use better tires at least. Super Tires 1204 work better.

The IG7005 work great--these cars don't have tons of power and the Indy Grips look more correct. It's up to the committee if this is voted in. Tom
