Jim, this stuff was digitized quite a long time ago by Greg Holland, who was the editor of Vintage Slot Racing Newsletter (vsrn) which was paper published with a stamped envelope to your door monthly (!) for about ten years in the latter 20th century. It also featured articles, letters, and most importantly want ads in the pre-net days. It is much missed by me. I do have them all in a notebook and refer to them often. Steve

Jim Neill and I ran when it was down there. It's started out as fun then got way too serious and cutthroat and big money was trading hands and the tempers went up as well. Jim and I thankfully dropped out before that happened though. Who knows maybe it's more placid in it's current location? I still have some drag cars from those days on my shelf gathering dust. Thats it in the background. Mark Misegadis' personal commercial track in the foreground. He still has it in storage in the Springs if anyone is interested.

I know that Westminster dragstrip has been in operation for at least a couple years. In my backyard, but have never visited; the type of racing just not my thing. A year or two ago I sold some ebay stuff to a local guy who said he was opening yet another track up in the Thornton/Northglenn area. Haven't heard any more. Steve

Oh, and Mark M's 4 lane track was, previous to that, located in Estes Park in "Noah's Ark" on hwy 34 at least 10 years ago, a toy store there. Visited with the owner then, but never ran it. On the subject of old lit, slotforum.com, in the vintage section, has a sub-directory dedicated to old magazines from every part of the world. The postings of each are "snapshots" of the highlights of each mag, not comprehensive. You could spend many hours in there. In the other section, "media" or somesuch, Don the moderator has a complete history of all the books, pamphlets etc. on historical slotting. Very educational.

oops, actually the old books are under the sub-forum "history and culture", not "media". Sorry.

I've been there! Visited Noah's Ark and ran my 1:32 scale cars on that track . . . several years ago. When I visited, the place had two (2) commercial tracks set up. Doug L.
