A note, the Fly Classic cars are for the most part cars (prototype) that have raced at Lemans. So the 2 classes would be fairly similiar cars, we would need to decide if racing Lemans prototype any exclusions. Otherwise it might be a race of NSR Ford GTs and P68s, 917s and the Slot.it Alfa 33/3 and Ferrari 312PB (did not run Lemans but ran all the other Endurance races that year. I guess I am suggesting that the 2 classes are pretty similiar and perhaps we should not split our vote, as right now the 2 classes have a total of 6 votes, but neither one is leading by catagory. Pros and Cons: Lemans Prototypes-- Pro's Would a few great looking cars by NSR or Slot- and Scaley & cars with lights Con's Performance disparity caused by the better chassis (motor differances could -- be figured out Fly Classics: Pro -- parity with limited modifications (tires are always a granted mod), 21.5k motor -- Cons -- No P4 Ferrari (the scaley version) , a bummer if you already bought an NSR Ford GT -- or P68 Alan Mann Ford
Some one else might have a better take on this than me, so if they do and post a convincing letter, I could change my vote, but for now I am with the Fly Classics.

by the way, I am glad to see the interest in true vintage. We would try to construct the rules for that class to make it very easy to aquire or borrow appropiate cars.

Can some one post a list of all the available 2 passenger production cars. It looks like it might possibly be one of our classes, and I am not sure of what all is out there. thanks

As Daryl has noted, the There are two similar classes in the poll. Whether they are both run or not, let's think about the winning class having an enduro about halfway through the season using these same cars. We could, and should, in my opinion award double or triple points for this one race. This way, we would be simulating just the way these cars were run in their heyday. I like the idea of simply replacing one of the scheduled "short" races with the endurance event. To keep from being at somebody's track (home) for too long a time, we could shorten, just this once, the other classes that we have decided upon. Say two minutes, or even a munite and a half, with fairly limited practice time. It would be a "do or die sprint" which I think might be a blast in itself. If we cut practice time down and give each competitor the exact same time, and restrict that practice to ONLY the machines they intend to run, we could save time with no unfairness. Should the host for this event wish to open the track for some time BEFORE the official practice starts, that's his option. But the event, with the "official" practice leading off MUST start at the appointed time to keep it from going on forever.
Sorry for the long-winded proposal. Comments?
Bill

Also, it seems true vintage will be a definite class. What subclass" is it? i.e. open, sports cars, prototypes, open wheel, etc. It'd be nice to know soon, so those of us who don't have much of a "true vintage" collection can make arrangements. Thanks for considering.

Perhaps it could be a sort of Goodwood revival, with a bit of everything,,, it will probably be the less seriously contested of the three classes.

Can some one post a list of all the available 2 passenger production cars? Corvette, Cobra, Pantera, Ferrari 308 comes to mind. (Hope the list is longer than that.) Doug L.

Poll is closed and there is a tie between the small bore 1/43 scx chassis class and the front engined V8 class. I really don't want to do the scx chassis thing so i vote for the V8 class. What do you guys want to do.

I cast a vote for each of these classes in our earlier poll. So either would be fun as far as I am concerned.

. . . there is a tie between the small bore 1/43 scx chassis class and the front engined V8 class. Tom ;D Point of clarification, Bill's suggestion for a racing class was not limited to front engine V8 cars. They could be rear engine, mid engine. (Or did I miss something?) Doug L.
