Attached photo was taken on Tuesday night. July 12. This is as far as I have gotten on the layout, getting the table built and painted, fitting the track pieces together. Wednesday afternoon, July 13, I had surgery at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. (More on that later.) My footprint is 25' long. The west end is 10' wide (features T6 and T8), and the east end is 5' wide (features T9, a Carrera #2 banked curve). Doug L. Attachments:

Wednesday afternoon, July 13, I had surgery at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. (More on that later.) Yes, I had surgery last Wednesday afternoon. I was at MCR Wednesday & Thursday night. My artificial hip joint revision was successful. My recovery pain is still tolerable. Occupational therapy and physical therapy saw me on Thursday and worked with me. MCR wanted to send me home on Thursday but my blood pressure was too low (68/56) and I had difficulty emptying my bladder. The spinal that they gave me on Wednesday, prior to surgery, tends to knock out oneβs bladder muscles and nerves which come back slowly. And if you're over 50 years of age, and a male, that exacerbates the problem. Orthopaedic surgeon Riley Hale found that my old appliance slid right out of my femoral bone, it was no longer anchored. Doctor also found that one tip of the femoral stem had broken off the appliance, no idea why this broke off. Whereas the old appliance was all titanium, this new one is ceramic and plastic and fits into the titanium cup in my pelvis that was installed 15 years ago. I spent Thursday night at MCR because my blood pressure remained low. Friday my BP had improved to 90/72. And my internal plumbing began working correctly. So, the medical staff said I could go home. I was discharged from the hospital at 11:00 Friday morning. I am swollen from my waist to my ankle on the left side of my body. I am taking two narcotic pain killers. I see the surgeon on August 4 and hope to be off narcotics soon after that. I am in no condition to work on my track at this time. Doug L.

[/quote] With all of the "good" meds maybe it would be a good time to check out your track design and maybe put a loop or two in it now. Just kidding, get well and hope the recovery is not painful and it is short. Jim W

My new track will have a few decorations, inspired by the real Riverside International Raceway circa 1968. 1. STP starter's tower 2. Bleachers and RIR Monolith sign 3. RIR monolith sign was located at the southeast corner of the intersection of California SR-60 and Day Street.
