Just as an FYI, the Cobras ( not the Daytona Coupes) that raced in 1963 and 1964 had the hardtop, they weren't open roadsters. Carrera does those cars. Tom

I read that the Cobra roadsters did race at Sebring. There also was them there Ferrari's at that race. I would think there was a few times that they met each other on the track.

Revell had a hardtop with their Cobras. I think MRRC also made some Cobras as Hardtops.

My bad, I was thinking it was a Lemans only class. So open top Cobras can run. Tom

With all the hassle of moving and other commiments I have not been very active in class selection. I would however like to just state how disappointed I am that there will be no true vintage class this year. Is kind like going against our name,, ( and mission statement, if we ever had one, lol). I realize that the true vintage stuff is getting harder to find, and recent new members are at a disadvantage: and that we have had classes for a very large number of vintage catagories. But really missing vintage for one year hopefully won't evolve in to a seldom or never class again. I guess this year is a wash, unless some one would think there would be support for the Ford vs Ferrari being vintage. You guys have done a good getting out next years classes. I will race and enjoy the season. daryl

I agree that there needs to be a true vintage class every year. I also know that there are few classes to run for vintage cars but we are, after all, a Vintage club. There is always next year I guess. Tom

It is interesting to me that for years Steve and I tried to get a true vintage class and failed to get enough support. I am pleased however that there is so much support now and I for one will try to make sure we have the "True Vintage" class every year from now on. Having said that, I would still encourage anyone who has a vintage car that fits any of the classes to run it if they want.

There is nothing in the rules, that prevents the use of Vintage cars in the Ford vs Ferrari class.
I will be looking at my Vintage cars and I know that I have a couple of "Ringers" that may not win against the Slot.it or NSR cars, but they will put on a good show. Of course, they will be open framed motors that were not good, even in the 60's!
Maybe we can give "double points" for Vintage cars in Ford vs Ferrari class!! Ha Ha

Daryl, as to a purpose statement, see Jim's post over in "general rules" folder. This goes back many years. S
